"What?" Luke asks, his brow creasing in concern. Here he is talking about the cats Reid has adopted and Caroline has been sitting on this information, probably waiting for the right moment to say it. He wishes he'd thought to ask earlier, make sure everything was okay, but with everything that had happened in Silent Darrow, he'd somehow thought things couldn't really get any worse. "Caroline, back up, what happened?"
Whatever it is, it sounds rather awful.
