"I think," Caroline says as she peruses the supernatural section of Luke's bookstore, "that you should have a bigger section for this kind of stuff." She skims her fingers over spines of books, chewing on her lower lip. "I mean, I get that you sort of have to deal with what you can find, because it's not like you can just Amazon your way into a selection, but--"

She pulled one, peering at the small type inside. "You could probably get people to write down how stuff goes where they're from. Although I guess that's not really books, is it? Just accounts. I was just thinking that like this--" She waves the book at him. "It's got to be different, depending on what universe you're from. Right?"

She looks back at him, and she doesn't even know if he's listening to her, since she's just been sort of... talking, for the last little bit. She's got a bad habit of doing that, but it's because she's kind of-- well. She's been sort of keeping an eye out for him. Watching him, sort of, just to make sure that Katherine doesn't stab him in the back. She thinks that they're friends, or something close to that, and she's lost way too many to the weird shit that happens when Katherine Pierce just happens to be around.
